Dr. Daniel J. Chartrand embraces “old school” medicine with his down-home approach to treating new patients and promoting wellness.

Synopsis

Is there a doctor in the house?  That question takes on a whole new meaning with Dr. Daniel J. Chartrand, an integrative medicine specialist, who works out of his home in Mckinney Texas, and still makes house calls.   Drawing on both conventional and alternative therapies, integrative medicine represents a higher-order system of care that emphasizes wellness and healing of the entire individual as the primary goal.   Dr. Daniel J. Chartrand’s  goal is to provide care that benefits the entire person, not just alleviate symptoms.   In each episode, the doctor will meet and treat a number of new and colorful patients, not only offering advice on healing and prevention, but also dealing with the personal drama of their lives which he balances with the demands of his own family life.  With the changing trends in medicine and current economic constraints facing many Americans, we are increasingly looking at alternative health care methods to treat our ailments and keep ourselves healthy.  Country Doc explores the drama and challenges facing many patients today who may not have access to adequate health care or insurance to cover the rising costs.  Along with offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the real-life struggles of a local, rural doctor, Country Doc also hopes to educate and inform the community on preventative methods for keeping themselves healthy.
